Okay so I caved and clicked home these two beauties from the net-a-porter sale. Both of the brands are fairly new to me but I'm already in love. Dannijo does some of the coolest jewelry I've seen and Athena Procopiou's prints... I don't even know what to say the colors are gorgeous and the prints in her collection "the island" kind of remind me of the patterns you can see in a kaleidoscope. Highly recommend to check out both of them.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. Had an amazing Christmas myself with lots of good food, amazing presents and wonderful people. I still have about 2 weeks off of school which gives me plenty of time to rest and recover. I'm also finalizing my UCAS applications which by the way are more time consuming than you might think.
Also the sales have started, haven't been downtown yet but I might go this weekend. There are also a few items on my net-a-porter wishlist which have already been there for some time and are now on sale, hmmm... I'll have to think about it.

My order arrived yesterday, haven't opened it yet as it's one of my x-mas presents so it's now sitting under the x-mas tree in our living room.

Incase you are wondering what I got... 

first time

I've been ordering quite a few of my Christmas presents online, including a necklace from ASOS and some stuff from Amazon, both of which arrived today. You have no idea how tempted I am to open the packages, well no peeking until x-mas. Anyway net-a-porter is one of my absolute favorite online shops and the reason why I've never ordered something from them before is that the shipping/delivery is 25€. I'm glad to pay more for quality clothes but to pay that much, just to have one or a few things shipped over from London is too much in my opinion. So yesterday when they had free express shipping as a part of their holiday calendar I decided to make my first purchase.

I don't like to make up excuses for not blogging but it has been a crazy two weeks with so much going on. Is anyone else a bit shocked it's already DECEMBER! what happened to 2011?
Christmas is a bit more than a week away, which is bad, very very bad... considering that I'm a bit behind on the Christmas shopping this year. Hopefully I get that done by friday so that I can spend my weekend wrapping gifts. 

wishlist

Trying to get into the Christmas spirit I made a bit of a wishlist for myself.

I always tend to wish for books and this year I would really like Taschen's London (or the four cities set) and Domino: the book of decorating. My wallet is practically falling apart so any new wallet in a nice neutral color would be much appreciated. I love all the gift sets that come out around the holidays and Kiehl's and L'occitane have some gorgeous ones both for women and men. My poor old computer would be much happier in a new case so why not this super girly pink one from Marc by Marc Jacobs. From ASOS I would love the Lipsy necklace and the Patent leather slippers.

I hope this has also helped to inspire you, maybe you found something that you would really love or something which would make the perfect gift for someone.

grey and rainy

It's FRIDAY!!! Had another short day today. Went swimming in the morning, came back home had some lunch and I'm now sitting on my bed trying to gather some inspiration. Nothing better than a stack of magazines, a cup of tea and a warm sweater when it's rainy and cold outside. As much as I hated last winter, I'm really starting to wish for some snow. Cause who doesn't wish for a white Christmas?

apartment inspo 2

Why can't all apartments be like this? Having grown up in Finland means I'm used to Scandinavian design, simplistic, bright, open, big windows for plenty of natural light, white walls and wooden floors. I've recently been looking at apartments in London and I'm so confused as to why EVERY apartment (well almost every) has a fitted carpet and cream/yellowish walls. It just hurts my eyes...

Got home around 11.30 today which was nice. That's the one thing I really enjoy about test week, having those short days when you just write the test and go home unlike my otherwise jam-packed 8-16 schedule. busy busy busy...

REVIEW: Kiehl's ultra facial

After about a month of having used the Kiehl's ultra facial products I think it's time for a review. I won't do an in-depth review (unless you guys want one, so let me know)just my general opinion. 
Anyway overall I love these products. The cleanser is great, it has a nice thick consistency but it isn't greasy, and you honestly need the smallest amount to cleanse your entire face. The toner was a bit of a shock when I first used it. It has a milky consistency and it felt quite "heavy" when I first applied it. I was used to the Clinique 3-step toner which is very refreshing and cooling, but I've gotten used to the ultra facial and actually quite like it. It does a great job of hydrating and comforting my dry skin. The moisturizer is nice, it's not some kind of miracle lotion but it does what it promises which is hydrates my face.

Would you recommend these products? YES!!!
For who? They are formulated for all skin types but the only ones I wouldn't recommend them to is for those with very oily skin because they are so moisturizing, but I believe Kiehl's has an ultra facial oil free line. 

Procrastinating

Test week started today, luckily though I only have three tests. Feeling ridiculously stressed right now... the art diploma work has to be done by next week and I'm nowhere near finished, I guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

It has been yet another busy week filled with school work. And there is no doubt next week won't be any different. 

Trying to take a bit of a break from all the work resulted in my weekend pretty much being spent in front of my computer reading interior design blogs. Found some fun stuff over at Z Gallerie (above). It's unfortunate that we don't have similar shops in Finland.

Didn't have class after lunch today so I went to Zara to pick up this little big beauty. It has been out of stock for months so you can imagine my excitement when I saw it on the shelf.

Snapped a few pictures today at Zara. Went downtown to pick up some stuff for my art diploma course. I need a portfolio to showcase the whole project in but returned empty handed as I realized I'm not completely sure what I want to do.

 I've tried this knit a few times but I'm not completely decided yet if I like it or not. 

need more time

I have so much school work right now it's insane! besides that I also feel like I might be developing a cold. I'll try to get some school work out of the way this weekend so I'll have more time to blog.

Here are some of the things I bought while I was in London.

 Zara v-neck sweater and sequinned clutch. Both of which I wanted really badly so I'm super happy.

 Navy and white sweater from COS. I got it in a size M so that it looks oversized which is just how I like my sweaters. 

   

I bought the Kiehl's ultra facial cleanser when Kiehl's first opened in Helsinki and since I really liked it I decided to try out the other products as well. I'll do a full review of the products in a few weeks.

travel series-part 1

At the end of this week I'll be going to London for a few days. I've decided to do a little series of posts, showing you what I like to wear, pack etc. when I travel.

Here is a quick look at what I like to wear whenever I'm at the airport. I know you've heard it a hundred times but layers really are the key when you travel. When it comes to pants I always opt for jeans and for shoes, my favorite pair of ankle boots are just as comfortable and easy to take off as a pair of sneakers.
