Stockholm recap 24.6-26.6

Here's what we did...
  • Traveled by boat, I prefer Silja Symphony (the other carrier is Serenade) since it sails under the Swedish flag which also means that the crew is Swedish
  • We stayed at Scandic Anglais a fantastic eco-friendly hotel right in the heart of Stockholm. Oh and did I mention they have free wifi, breakfast that's always included in the room fee and wooden floors (I HATE carpeted floors)
  • Shopped at...
    • Acne Norrmalmstorg 2
    • COS Biblioteksgatan 3
    • Marc by Marc Jacobs Smålandsgatan 10
    • Nordiska Kompaniet Hamngatan 18-20
    • MTWTFSS Weekday Drottninggatan 63
...the list could go on forever
  • Dessert from Ladurée on Grev Turegatan 15
  • Ate at TGIF, adventurous? No, but they have good food and tasty cocktails
  • Evening walk along Strandvägen

Biotherm aqua trio

I'm going to be traveling next week and since it's a complete waste of space to cram massive half-empty bottles into my tiny suitcase I've instead opted for these...
The Biotherm aqua trio travel set for dry skin (bought it at Stockmann for 9.50€)
The set includes the biosource softening exfoliating cleansing gel (20ml), biosource instant hydration softening lotion (30ml) and the aquasource 24h deep hydration replenishing cream (20ml)

2-1-2012

I never showed you pictures from London, so what better way to start off the new year than by looking back at the best bit of 2011.

We stayed at the Langham which was AMAZING! The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and service overall was impeccable. There were two power cuts during our stay (they were deliberate, I think they were doing some work across the street). The staff was extremely apologetic about this,  and the power was only off from something like 1 to 5 in the morning so it didn't affect us at all.
Random street corner
St. Christopher's Place (map) is a wonderful little area in the heart of West End. It's filled with cafes and restaurants as well as shops like Kurt Geiger, Jigsaw and Reiss.
Yes there is that preppy girl inside of me who loves Ralph Lauren and all of his cable-knit sweaters. Note that this picture is of the children's store. You'll find Ralph Lauren on No 1 New Bond Street and Ralph Lauren rugby on 43 King Street in Covent Garden.

This was by far the best bit of 2011 and I hope to go back soon.

141011-London shopping

Here are some of the things I bought while I was in London.
Zara v-neck sweater and sequinned clutch. Both of which I wanted really badly so I'm super happy.

Navy and white sweater from COS. I got it in a size M so that it looks oversized which is just how I like my sweaters.

I bought the Kiehl's ultra facial cleanser when Kiehl's first opened in Helsinki and since I really liked it I decided to try out the other products as well. I'll do a full review of the products in a few weeks.

travel series-part 2

Here are the liquids which I take with me in my hand luggage. To be honest I really only use the hand cream, lip balm and moisturizer during the flight. I always travel with all of my make up in my hand luggage simple because I'm afraid that something will break/crack.

List of products:
1. L'occitane 20% shea butter hand cream
2. Kiehl's #1 lip balm
3. Mac cream blush in Lilicent
4.Clarins hydra-matte lotion
5.Miss Dior Chérie
6.Diorshow iconic mascara
7. Lancome liner design eyeliner
8. Chanel vitalumiere aqua foundation

travel series-part 1

At the end of this week I'll be going to London for a few days. I've decided to do a little series of posts, showing you what I like to wear, pack etc. when I travel.
Here is a quick look at what I like to wear whenever I'm at the airport. I know you've heard it a hundred times but layers really are the key when you travel. When it comes to pants I always opt for jeans and for shoes, my favorite pair of ankle boots are just as comfortable and easy to take off as a pair of sneakers.

empire state of mind

We had lunch by the boathouse with the upper east side crowd.
imagine mosaic in central park (there was a group tour when we arrived so I couldn't get a picture from another angel)
tall iced caramel macchiato
10th ave. and 46th street
Outside the MET

The Dior store was closed hence the giant Lady Dior bag
Loved the Miu Miu store

Here are a few photos from my trip to New York. I don't really have pictures of any tourist attractions since I've been to pretty much all of them before. I'll show you some of the stuff that I got later. I've been trying to take pictures but I can't get enough natural light since it's been gray and rainy all week and the pictures just don't turnout nicely. I'll get back to you soon.

Pazza Notte

So sorry for not posting in a week. Here are a few pictures from one of my favorite places in New York. Pazza Notte on 6th ave. and 55th st. They have the most amazing pizza and their molten chocolate cake (above) is amazing.
