inspiration: Maryna Linchuk

This is one girl I would love to swap wardrobes with. This goes to show that neutral colors can make just as interesting and individual outfits as bright colors can. 

staple items

Here are a few staple (and other) items my wardrobe and makeup bag are in desperate need of. A sailor/navy coat, a basic black wallet, a basic silver watch (I love the one that I have so I've been thinking about saving up for another one), a pair of black pumps, a good carryall bag and Clinique moisture surge lotion.

Here is some inspiration for this week. Miranda along with Maryna Linchuk are probably my two favorite models, both of them are absolutely stunning. Also, I'm in love with the Prada dress from the 2010 resort collection that she is wearing in the 2nd picture. I'm usually the type of person who opts for something more like the last outfit, but that dress is just so pretty.

I've been trying to find a similar chunky knit sweater as above, but I just can't seem to find "the perfect one". I might try Zara again as they have a tone of them on sale right now or then Weekday. Any other ideas where I might find one?

never too early

Yes it's January and I just ordered bikinis. ASOS like many other stores are having a sale right now to get rid of last seasons items. Not that I'll be wearing these any time soon, but at least they'll help me stay motivated about getting back into shape for summer.

I absolutely love her style. There isn't a lot of information about her, but she is the fashion editor at Harper's Bazaar Australia and also freelances as a stylist. She lives in Bondi in Sydney Australia and has confessed to be a sucker for studs, metal detailing and patent leather.

* HAPPY NEW YEAR! *

I hope that everyone has an amazing new year. 2010 has been amazing for me. I've met lots of wonderful people, had an amazing trip to New York, found new interests, finally decided what I want to do with my life :D, got in contact with relatives I haven't spoken to in over 10 years, and so much more. 

I hope that 2011 is going to be just as amazing!

 I love Christmas! for so many reasons but most of all because I get to be creative. I spend more time planning how to wrap a gift rather than thinking what the gift should be. It has always been a tradition in my family that I make the Christmas cards rather than buying them from a store. Sure they aren't "Martha Stewart perfect" but I just think it's so much more thoughtful making them yourself even if it means that I have to sit at my desk surrounded by piles of glitter and glue for hours. Speaking of Martha Stewart I think I spent a total of 3 hours on her website today going through and downloading recipes, templates etc. I started under the category Christmas but later ended up in the wedding section. I now have an entire folder dedicated to wedding favors, place cards, decorations and different templates for everything and anything :)
It's independence day tomorrow here in Finland which means no school. I miss 4th of July in the States in Finland independence day is a lot more peaceful and it's more about remembering those who fought for this country (no fireworks, BBQs etc.)

taking my time

It's been a long time since I last wrote, but there are so many other important things I need to take care of and I just don't have time to blog. Test week starts tomorrow, my courses for next spring are a mess, trying to figure out how to get a scholarship, figuring out how to apply to universities outside of Finland (yes, I want to study abroad)..... 
I'll start blogging again when I get everything under control. <3
